The army chief of staff, formerly commander of the UNIFIL mission from the 2007 to the 2010, received an update of the situation in the area of responsibility.
General Portolano highlighted "that although the UNIFIL sector is stable, the threat brought to Lebanon by armed groups linked to ISIS or Qaedist wire has imposed an increase in land control activities, in cooperation with the Lebanese armed forces, especially in the eastern sector of the area of responsibility, the most sensitive in light of the recent clashes between Druze and rebels, on the Syrian side of Mount Hermon ".
