KFOR, “Security and Coordination Conference” in RC-W concluded

The conference on cooperation and security, organized by the regional command West (RC-W), multinational contingent of KFOR led by the 1st Bersaglieri Regiment.

The conference proceedings highlighted the practical modalities and lessons learned among the first, second and third security responders in Kosovo (KP, Eulex and KFOR), as well as the contributions made by other international organisations, in particular the OSCE and the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, to discuss ways to deepen and improve mutual cooperation, information sharing and public awareness in relation to specific priorities, including joint patrolling, engagement with communities premises, freedom of movement, road safety and accident prevention

Indeed, the initiative aimed to facilitate ongoing cooperation between KFOR, the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), sharing experiences, knowledge and strategies developed over the years to promote awareness of correct behavior among drivers, thus reducing the number of accidents and saving human lives.

The commander of the regional command West, Colonel Francesco Ferrara, honored the memory of Claudio Cadeddu, the soldier of the Italian Army who passed away last October 24th due to an accident on the Kosovan roads.

The “Security and Coordination Conference” was organized by KFOR RC-W in order to coordinate the ongoing cooperation between all the main actors, national and international, who support security in Kosovo.

The Italian contingent of KFOR operates in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and secure environment, as well as freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo.
