Last April 30, 2024, during the stop in the port of Tema (Ghana) and as part of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), the ship's crew Bettica engaged in the operation Gabinia in the fight against piracy in the waters of the Gulf of Guinea, he participated in a solidarity event at the "Santa Bakhita School Complex".
The soldiers provided concrete help by personally contributing with the donation of basic necessities and useful material for carrying out the school activities of the little ones, as well as making their professional skills available in improving the infrastructural conditions of the district and carrying out renovation works. ordinary maintenance.
Despite the intense work activity and the sultry heat, there was no shortage of group games and smiles that helped fill the spirits of the Nave Bettica crew, who lived an extraordinary and unforgettable human experience. Accompanying the Navy personnel was also the president of the GIWA Association (Ghana Italian Women Association), Mrs. Sara Baldi: an Italian now firmly inserted in the social and solidarity reality of Ghana who, after having put the unit in contact with the Founder of the School, expressed words of gratitude and affection to the entire Navy, for the support received from the Bettica crew.
The commander of the unit, frigate captain Giuseppe Bonfiglio, expressed his gratitude to the men and women on board, underlining how "participation in these solidarity activities is an action that strengthens the spirit of the crew and the individual.
