(To UNIFIL)

In recent days, the Italian contingent on an Alpine brigade basis Taurinense  has resumed a series of medical cardiological monitoring activities in favor of institutions and schools in southern Lebanon; it started with the high school of Alma Ash Shaab, a village in southern Lebanon, which hosts about 130 students.

Cardiological screening was carried out in coordination with the CIMIC cell composed of specialists from Multinational Cimic Group of Motta di Livenza, from specialized medical personnel of the "level 1" stationed at Shama, headquarters of the command of the western sector of UNIFIL with Italian leadership.

In particular, about 20 specialist visits were carried out with relative tracing performed by electrocardiogram and measurement of oximetry, anamnesis and objective examination of the carotid pulses.

Words of sincere thanks were expressed by the director of the institute, Father Maroun Ghafari, who thanked the Italian contingent for the continuous support provided and for the attention dedicated to his students.

This intervention is part of the activities of support and assistance to institutions and the local population, activities that the Italian contingent - which operates within the ambit of the UNIFIL multinational mission implementing the 1701 resolution of the United Nations Security Council - carries out every day.
