The Bersaglieri of the "Garibaldi" brigade take part in "Saber Strike 24", one of the largest NATO exercises on the eastern Euro-Atlantic flank.

In particular, the Bersaglieri of the 8th Caserta Regiment, an operational department of the Army included in the NATO Response Force (NRF), are engaged in the "Saber Strike 24", an international military exercise involving approximately 5.000 thousand soldiers from 10 Nations and several multinational headquarters of strategic, operational and tactical levels, involved in one of the largest exercises of its kind in the history of the Atlantic Alliance.

The objective is to consolidate and verify the level of readiness of the units, to conduct high intensity operations, with the aim of responding quickly to the onset of a threat.

Essential for the NRF is the ability to deploy land, sea, air forces and special forces assets to any crisis area in a very short time, with the aim of assuming initial control of a military operation and facilitating the arrival of larger contingents.

Italian and foreign military medical assets also participate in the exercise, in a simulated combat scenario, to test techniques and procedures aimed at the treatment of wounded personnel and their evacuation.
