Iraq: the carabinieri conclude a course for local police forces

A few days ago, at the Iraqi federal police training center, the graduation ceremony of the 19 ° "Carabinieri Course", carried out by the soldiers of the Weapon in favor of 150 policemen from 5 Iraqi provinces (Anbar, Salahuddin, Wasit, Diyala and Baghdad).

The course was aimed at effective agents at 4 different police organizations: Federal Police, SWAT, Local Police and instructors of the Academies and with 3 different types of professional backgrounds: instructors, expert operators and new recruits.

The ceremony, held in the presence of the Italian ambassador to Iraq Marco Carnelos, of the deputy commander of the combined joint task force - operations Inherent Resolve, major general Douglas Chalmers (from Kuwait), of General Richard Clark responsible for training in the coalition command in Baghdad (CJFLCC- l), ended with a practical demonstration of the skills acquired during the course.

The training program, in addition to providing practical tools in daily police activities, was aimed at instilling and increasing in the students the awareness of performing the functions of police operator by referring to the principles of the rule of law, respect for human rights, code of conduct, professional ethics and protection of the population.

The course just concluded is the 2 ° carried out by the carabinieri in the context of the mission First Parthica, although the expressed progression of the courses held in Iraq by the Weapon from the 2007 to the 2011 with the NATO training mission (for which it takes the name of 19 ° course).

From 4 October the 1 ° course entirely dedicated to Local Police (Approximately 150 units from the province of Anbar and the City of Mosul) which will end at the end of November.
