General Abdullah Hajj Aynte, head of the personal office of the General Staff of Defense, and Colonel Siverstedt Ulf, representing Brigadier General Maggi, mission commander of EUTM Somalia, were present at the ceremony.
During the courses, lasting 3 months each, 22 official Somalis were trained on tactics, techniques and infantry procedures, while 23 somali trainers of the "Train the Trainers" course were trained on notions and techniques necessary to become future trainers.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the students of the courses carried out a joint exercise during which they demonstrated the skills acquired during the training and that will allow them to perform their functions as best as possible once they have returned to their departments.
The EUTM Somalia mission is an effective work to support the capacitive development of the Somalia security sector and the establishment of a professional security and defense apparatus.
