In recent days, the Task Force Arena, on the basis of 5 "Aosta" infantry regiment, has assumed the responsibility of the vigilance and safety (Force Protection) of Camp Arena, the base that hosts the Italian military contingent and of the other nations that make up the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W ).
With a simple ceremony, the commander of the Spanish unit, Task Force Pirineos, left the leadership of the command post (Base Defense Operation Center - BDOC) and the conduct of internal and external security activities of Camp Arena to the incoming Italian unit, called Force Protection Task Group (FP-TG) of the Aosta infantry regiment.
The 5 infantry regiment "Aosta" on which the Task Force Arena, will guarantee the protection of the Base for carrying out, in an adequate security framework, all the delicate activities of the Italian and foreign military personnel within and near the base of the Camp Arena, without neglecting support for the Afghan security forces so that the themselves consolidate the level of efficiency achieved.
