About two thousand migrants landed on Wednesday in the various ports of Sicily, between Porto Empedocle, Pozzallo, Catania and Augusta. Numerous men, women, children and unaccompanied minors.

The body of a migrant who died of starvation during the crossing was also landed in Pozzallo.

1138 migrants of Eritrean, Syrian and other African nations have landed at Augusta.

Among the migrants there was also a newborn born during the journey. The mother decided to call him "Giorgio".

On board the mother is a son have been checked by medical personnel and are in good condition but as a precaution they were transferred to the Umberto I ° hospital in Syracuse for investigations. 

For the moment no smugglers have been identified on board but the investigations of the law enforcement task force continue incessantly.
