"A year of communication and enhancement of the Marine Brand" is the event organized by the Public Information and Communication Office (UPICOM) at the Officers' Club of the Navy of Rome.

All the Armed Forces as well as being an instrument of defense and security, they have the exclusive use of their own denomination, of the emblems, of the emblems and of every other badge. They are also gods brand on the market: a means to convey above all the values ​​that animate our military.

Difesa Servizi Spa, contributes to developing and enhancing economic management for commercial purposes by granting licenses for use to third parties in various ways, both exclusive and non-exclusive, in the various product classes.

I brand military personnel, such as the Navy, operate in various fields: objects, clothing, modeling, watchmaking, publishing etc. both nationally and internationally.

In the symbolic journey in a year of communication (the one just ended) with the Navy, Rear-Admiral Fabio Agostini, Upicom's press office, traces the main stages of the realization of many events and projects.

The "journey" begins aboard the ship Amerigo Vespucci, which last year celebrated 85 years since its launch. Over time the ship has been modernized, remaining faithful in the essential parts, to its history and its past. With the training campaign started in 2016, it touched 20 national and international ports, receiving the visit of about two hundred thousand people. To celebrate Nave's birthday Vespucci a book has been created that witnesses the three moments of the ship: past, present and future. Part of the cover is made with an original holona sail insert and a bag entirely hand-made always in Olona cloth from the mast of the Maestra mast (larger sail with a surface of approximately 345mq on the total sail area 2600mq). Each piece is unique with its imperfections and signs of navigation and has not undergone any treatment including the top for closing.

The calendar for the 2017, called "a day a year long" includes 12 shots selected from all the moments of life that sailors have taken up during their daily life aboard ships and submarines of the Navy.

Difesa Servizi Spa, Marina Militare and Rortos, a leading company in the field of apps for tablets and mobile phones, have created a flight simulator and an aeronaval simulator (v.articolo). The presentation of the product took place on board the Vespucci, sees the ship represented in the video game. Many copies have been distributed both in Europe and in the USA and China.

The Navy also "communicates" through the notes of the music of the Band of the Navy: 102 musicians coordinated by maestro Barbagallo who travel km to reach the various cities of Italy to spread the musical traditions of the Armed Forces. The concert that closes the activities of the Band that takes place at the auditorium of the Parco della Musica in the capital, also represents an appointment with solidarity: a fundraiser with chocolate hearts for research on muscular dystrophy.

The 20 December of the 2016, from the port of La Spezia, heading towards South East Asia and Australia, the campaign of the European multi-mission frigate (FREMM) began Carabiniere. Aimed to ensure presence, maritime surveillance, strengthen cooperation activities with allies and initiate relationships with new potential partners. The campaign touched countries such as Saudi Arabia, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Numerous collaborations of Italian industrial partners including Fincantieri, Leonardo, MBDA, Elettronica and Telespazio.

The Navy also supports two foundations: "Operation Smile" and the Rava Foundation.

Dr. Scoppelliti, maxillofacial surgeon and corvette captain recalls that following the earthquake in Haiti, the Navy with Ship Cavour has made available to "Operation Smile" an equipped hospital, implemented with specialized experimentation. On this occasion, 35 interventions were performed. A collaboration between the foundation and the Navy that continues today: the country having a resource available in the health component of Nave Cavour and also of other ships, when they are not engaged in military activities, they are used for the public service.

The collaboration between the Rava Foundation and the Navy also began with the earthquake in Haiti and continues to support it even in the reconstruction of some schools in central Italy, following the seismic events of last year. The historical calendar of the 2018 is dedicated to the Foundation. Each image is an immediate glance between past and present: "Remembering the past, building the future". Remember the past for the values, the aspects that have characterized the service that made the men and women of the Navy. Just like Luigi Rizzo, first count of Grado and Premuda, Italian maritime commander and admiral, who served in the Royal Navy during the first and second world wars. "The Sinker" showed truly unique gifts of courage, spiritual strength and moral consistency. And in memory and in honor of the Permuda action the Armed Force celebrates its own 10 June party.

In addition to communication activities, there are other operational activities that see men and women of the Navy engaged in the sea over 1500 to protect not only national interests.
