A little less than a year after the sale of the former ships Minerva e Sibilla, on Friday 6 May 2016 the formal deed of sale of the former corvettes to the Fincantieri company was signed Urania e Danaide, already laid down by 31 in March. The final sale of the two naval units was signed maritime commander Sicily, Rear Admiral Nicola de Felice and the engineer Roberto Fazzeri, representative of Fincantieri.

The ships departed from the naval base of Augusta and will be towed to Genoa, where they will undergo transformation and adaptation works, before being delivered to the Bangladeshi Coast Guard under the names of Kamaruzzaman and Mansoor Ali.

After almost 30 years of honorable service, mainly used in presence and surveillance operations in the Mediterranean basins, protection of merchant traffic and control of forced passages, the two former corvettes leave the framework of the State Naviglio, as foreseen by the decree of the Minister of Defense of last March 3.

With the radiation of the two corvettes Urania e Danaide, continues the process of downsizing of the Navy ships which, due to the aging of the naval crew, will see the radiation of most of the units currently in service in the coming years.
