After leaving the North Sea via the English Channel, ship Vespucci arrived on 11 September in Brest, one of the main naval bases of the French Navy and headquarters of theNaval Ecole.

The three days of navigation used to reach Brittany were intense and full of activities for the students who, after two months of training on board, were able to demonstrate what they had learned so far to the commander of the Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Pierpaolo Ribuffo, present on board while browsing. Going ashore, English lessons and hand-to-hand military combat were just some of the activities in which the course Ateires has proved to have gained confidence and mastery.

Upon arrival at the naval base, the Vespucci ship was welcomed by the Italian ambassador in France, Giandomenico Magliano, who addressed his personal greeting to the crew and the students gathered on the quarterdeck.

The days in Brest were useful for the students to get to know more closely the men and vehicles of the Marine Nationale, through a visit to the bridge simulator and the Primauguet anti-submarine frigate.

The visit to the French Naval Academy, the Ecole Navale, was an opportunity for the students to interact directly with their colleagues from across the Alps: this allowed them to come into contact with a different academic reality with which, moreover, , young officer exchange programs are held annually.

With the departure from Brest on day 14, the Vespucci it moves towards its conclusion; what awaits the ship and the Ateires course now is a long sailing trip that will end on the Spanish coasts for the last stop in the port of Valencia on 23 September, before returning home.
