International sailing week: official calendar presented

The "International Sailing Week of the Naval Academy and City of Livorno" was presented last Friday at the CONI Hall of Honor in Rome, as part of the National Assembly of the Italian Sailing League - LIV.

The panorama of national and international regattas will be enriched by an unmissable event which, born from the synergistic collaboration between the Naval Academy, the Municipality of Livorno and the city's sailing clubs, will involve, from 22 April to 1 May in Livorno, sailors, spectators and simple visitors, with the aim of bringing young people and citizens closer to one of the most important resources of our country: the sea.

Specifically, on April 28, 29 and 30, the Academy will organize the Regatta of Naval Academies, in which about twenty crews from all over the world will participate (including Argentina, Ecuador, Germany, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and Tunisia) . This competition, which will take place with the innovative and spectacular format created by LIV, the Italian Sailing League, will take place in front of the famous Terrazza Mascagni and can also be followed on special mega screens.

"... in this International Sailing Week of the Naval Academy and the City of Livorno, the Navy will be at sea with its crews to spread and testify the values ​​in which every good sailor believes, to be also a good citizen", he underlined during the presentation of the event by the commander of the Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Pierpaolo Ribuffo.

In fact, "Team spirit, love for the environment, solidarity with others and a deep passion for one's profession", specified the admiral, represent the values ​​that animate the personnel of the Navy.

During the "International Sailing Week" numerous events will be organized for the youngest and for the social: three regattas for children (Laser Bug, L'Equipe, Windsurf Under 12), regattas for disabled sportsmen, the competition "The sea, the sails ”for students of primary and secondary schools in the Region, and various charitable initiatives in favor of UNICEF and the Francesca Rava NPH Onlus Foundation.
