On 21 March 2016, the reclamation of two wrecks laden with unexploded remnants of war was completed, found last February off the port of Savona and for which intervention was requested by the Prefecture of Savona - Territorial Office - of the Underwater and Incursors Group (COMSUBIN) of the Italian Navy.

In consideration of the significant depth at which both wrecks were located (-48 meters), identified as probable German motor boats sunk in the last years of the Second World War, COMSUBIN worked with the most valuable underwater assets placed under its dependencies: Nave Anteo, conceived to support deep diving operations, and the EOD-NAVY divers of the Underwater Operating Group.

The following numbers represent the operational effort that the Navy has made off the port of Savona starting from March 14, the day of the beginning of the reclamation:

- 6 days of underwater operations, 2 of which are in prohibitive weather conditions;

- 76 hours of diving at a depth of 48 meters conducted through the bell underwater SDC (Submersible Decompression Chamber), the Equipment Underwater from the surface and the air breathing apparatus;

- 105 75 mm bullets, each containing 370 grams of high explosive potential, which have been recovered and neutralized.
