The modernization works continue on board the Vespucci ship

On the Amerigo Vespucci training ship, the modernization works are continuing in the La Spezia arsenal, and for this reason the Vespucci is in a very particular set-up. In fact, the masts of the sailing ship are devoid of flagpoles to allow for higher tests and maintenance, than normally expected, during this unique work stop in its history.

While the nocturne are engaged in the restructuring of the marine equipment, the mechanics, the engines and the electricians on board are taking care, in team with the workers of the arsenal and the private industry, of all the maintenance that will lead to the re-ignition of the board. Just on 29 September, the new main electrical panel was successfully powered with the ground socket; this important step of the rearrangement phase, starts the countdown that will see our "lady of the seas" again sailing from next spring.

In particular, the timeline of the program sees the HAT (Harbor Acceptance Trials) on 26 October 2015, i.e. the start of selective ignition of the equipment in port, on 14 December the hot tests of the engines and on 3 March 2016 the SAT (Sea Acceptance Trials), tests of all systems and equipment with units at sea.

The crew and the direction of the arsenal of La Spezia are working to speed up the timing and make sure that Vespucci is returned to the Gulf of Poets as soon as possible.
