Tuesday 27 February, Ship Bergamini received on board the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, during the stop in Limassol as part of theOperation Safe Mediterranean.
President Mattarella was received on board by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, team admiral Enrico Credendino, by rear admiral Stefano Frumento, commander of OMS, together with the commander of the unit, frigate captain Francesco S. Coronas.
During the visit, the operational commitments involving the surface, aerial and underwater assets of the Navy were illustrated.
At the end of the visit, President Mattarella addressed his greetings to the crew, expressing his thanks for the constant contribution provided more generally by all the crews of the Navy, highlighting how in this period characterized by tensions in several parts of the world , all the Armed Forces are called to make an accentuated commitment. The Navy, specifically, is active on various fronts, guaranteeing the Italian contribution to stability and peace.
