Ship Borsini he is assisting a boat with about 400 migrants on board and a rubber dinghy with about 120 migrants on board.

Ship Grecale has just completed the rescue on a rubber boat with 120 migrated on board.

Ship Margottini has declared SAR on four rubber dinghies for a total of about 450 migrants and is proceeding to the rescue.

Other interventions of the naval units of the EUNAVFOR MED device are in progress.

The national MARE SICURO operation was launched on 12 March 2015 following the worsening of the Libyan crisis which made it necessary to strengthen the Aeronaval Device of the MM deployed in the Central Mediterranean - in order to protect national interests in the area and ensure adequate maritime safety levels.
