That from 4 to 10 August was a long, very interesting and particularly demanding navigation that saw ship Palinuro cross in succession the waters of the Aegean Sea, the Dardanelles, the Sea of Marmara and, for the first time, the Bosphorus to reach the waters of the Black Sea.

The state of the sea, constantly moved by an incessant stiff north wind, was the setting for this unique experience. The bad weather, however, did not prevent the students from continuing the intense training program: theoretical and practical lessons of seafaring art and frequent maneuvers to the sails that allowed the students to deepen on the field aspects of life on board until now unknown.

The most evocative moment during the crossing of the Turkish straits was the passage of the Bosphorus. To underline the exceptional nature and importance of the event, the students made the transit under the Istanbul bridge arranged on the foremast masts. "The enthusiasm and adrenaline generated by the elevated position have however given way to amazement for the enchanting view below offered by ancient Constantinople. Emotions that represent indelible memories for those who live these adventures with passion, as only a true sailor can do. "commented the pupil Moro.

With the arrival in Varna the students experienced other aspects connected with training such as protocol, cultural and historical ones: visit to the municipality, to the naval base, to the Bulgarian Naval School at the Naval Academy with its ultra-modern bridge simulator, opportunities for students of confrontation and exchange with Bulgarian culture.

The Academy is a very modern institute, always oriented to the civilian and military world, offering courses of all levels, including English, as masters and research fellowships attracting the interest and participation of other countries Europeans.

Finally, the last day of rest represented a moment of historical interest. The students visited the ancient city of Nesebar, appreciating the splendid views offered by the Orthodox churches and the characteristic city streets.

As part of the protocol visits, particular attention was paid to the ship by the Bulgarian Navy which, with its chief of staff, Admiral Mitko A. Petev, accepted the invitation on board.

After this stop, continue the Education campaign with the sails unfurled towards the port of Odessa, in Ukraine, where the ship will be parked from 15 to 19 August.
