Magnaghi ship in Sardinia for the 2020 hydro-oceanographic campaign

Nave's Hydro-Oceanographic 2020 Campaign has begun Admiral Magnaghi, which greeted the city of La Spezia on 21 June to set sail and reach the fascinating "Isola dei nuraghi".

Ship Admiral Magnaghi has been carrying out since 1975, the year of its delivery, a constant and fundamental activity of mapping the seabed and monitoring of the seas, necessary to guarantee the safety of navigation.

The unit will be engaged until August in the waters of Sardinia and Sicily. The first phase of the campaign will see it engaged in the north-eastern area of ​​Sardinia, more precisely, in the Golfo degli Aranci and in the Gulf of Congianus. The activity is particularly important as, thanks to the surveys that will be carried out by the specialist personnel on board, it will allow the updating of the Charter 322 - Gulf of Olbia and Aranci, Islands of Tavolara and Molara - and of the Charter 323 - Gulf of Congianus and Passo delle Bisce.

The data acquired in Olbia, after being valued and validated in the on-board operations center, through the use of the technical-scientific instruments supplied to the ship Admiral Magnaghi, will be sent to the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, which will update the nautical cartography in force to protect mariners.
