Nave Libra helps 490 migrants. During the rescue a baby is born

The Libra Navy patrol inserted in the Frontex "Triton" device has rescued this night at 60 nautical miles from the shores of Tripoli two boats with numerous migrants on board.

The two SAR events, conducted and completed during the night, led to the recovery from distressed boats of 111 and 175 migrants. Nave Libra subsequently embarked on 204 migrants rescued formerly by the CP905 patrol boat from the Port Authorities.

During the rescue a Somali woman, assisted by the medical personnel of the Navy, on board of ship Libra gave birth to a child who was called Hamed Idiris Ibraahim.

The little one and the mother are in good health. Nave Libra, with the migrant 490, heads towards the Italian coasts.
