People made fragile by social hardships, disabilities, illnesses or difficult situations are welcome aboard the largest brig in the world. Both children and adults can be part of the projects and benefit from the benefits of "Adventure therapy".
Ship Italy with flag and crew of the Navy, also in 2022, wants to welcome young special sailors on board, offering them a truly unique life experience with a solidarity campaign that will see ship Italia engaged in activities at sea and in the main ports of the Italian coasts .
Entities wishing to participate must apply for the pre-selection by filling out the online form available on the Foundation's website (www.naveitalia.org/progetti/presenta-il-tuo-progetto/) no later than November 15, 2021.
The foundation Tender to Nave Italia aims to promote the culture of the sea through sailing as a tool for training, education, rehabilitation and social inclusion, and thus improve the quality of life of people with physical and cognitive disabilities and social integration problems, aiming to the growth of self-esteem and the conquest of greater autonomy. The sea, sailing, navigation, the rules of the Navy crew and the rhythms of life on board are a powerful and precious tool for social intervention.
Since 6 April 2007, when the first rehabilitation project began, more than 5.000 users have sailed on ship Italia, special sailors who have braved wind, waves and military rules to rediscover within themselves the ability to do, learn, live together and rejoice, despite everything. .
The Nave project Italy, born thanks to the collaboration between the Navy and the Italian Yacht Club, represents one of the many examples of activities that the armed force carries out in favor of the community, with a view to solidarity that has always distinguished the great crew of the Navy.
