Fasan ship in training with the navies of Greece and Canada

On 15 September 2016, in the Central Mediterranean, the frigate Virginio Fasan she trained with a Greek navy ship, the frigate HS Spetsai, and with the Canadian navy frigate Charlottetown. The latter is engaged together with the ship Fasan in the NATO operation Active Endeavor.

The three ships carried out training activities of various kinds, in particular maneuvers in training, fire drills with on-board weapons and anti-area combat simulations in favor of combat operations centers.

The purpose of these activities is to maintain a high degree of interoperability between the maritime forces of the Allied countries, share operational procedures and at the same time acquire specific skills in the fight against terrorism for the safety of the seas.

Completed the ship drill Fasan resumed its activity of presence, monitoring and control of merchant traffic aimed at guaranteeing safety for navigation in the Mediterranean.
