05/06/15

After three weeks of intense activity in the port and at sea with six sailing periods, the 27 May ended the preliminary training of the Carabiniere ship.

Planned after the ship was delivered to the Italian Navy last April 28, the entire crew was involved in numerous fire and sack drills, man overboard recovery, failure of the unit management system, and operation in safety of the towing maneuver, to the supply of fuel at sea and to the activity of fire with the artillery plants, all aimed at obtaining a crew perfectly integrated with the on-board systems and capable of conducting operations and even the navigation in the same maximum security.

The period at sea has allowed us to refine and consolidate the professional preparation of all the staff, but above all it has made the crew close-knit and cohesive, essential characteristics to face the future activities at sea to which the ship will be called to participate.

The commander of the First Naval Group, rear-admiral Francesco Sollitto, on the occasion of his greeting to the crew, underlined just this last aspect and how the men and women of the Carabiniere ship are now ready to face together the challenges of the sea.
