A dense stage of events is that of Andrea Doria in Muscat. During the three days of rest in the capital of Oman the crew of the ship, engaged in the role of flagship of the European mission to combat piracy, organized meetings and events to celebrate the Day of National Unity, Day of the Armed Forces.

On the early morning of Saturday, the ship moored 1 November, welcomed in the port of Sultan Qaboos, a few meters from the unmistakable censer symbol of the city and in the immediate vicinity of the characteristic souk.

On November 2 the force commander of the Atalanta mission, rear admiral Guido Rando and the ship's captain Doria, captain of vessel Angelo Virdis, accompanied by the defense employee in Oman, captain of vessel Stefano Crementieri, were received by the ambassador of Italy in Oman, Pola Aamadei, in the quaint neighborhood of Al Khuwair.

The same evening, a ceremony was held on board the Navy destroyer to celebrate the Day of National Unity and the Armed Forces, in the presence of the Italian ambassador and the Defense official. The event, very much felt by the Italian community in Oman, also offered the opportunity to show guests the Naval Unit, illustrating its excellent skills.
