- After the agreement signed the 16 April 2014 between the Minister of Defense and the President of the Puglia region, for cooperation on public health, the November 6, at the local health authority (ASL) of Taranto, the navy has signed a trade agreement with the Puglia region that will allow all the citizens of Puglia, to be able to take advantage of oxygen treatment hyperbaric therapy, at the military hospital in Taranto.

The navy's military health center, in fact, has a modern multi-position hyperbaric chamber already used also for civil use, for emergency-emergency treatments.

This agreement provides for the reimbursement to the marina, by the ASL of Taranto, of the charges incurred for oxygen therapy sessions through an exchange of goods and services.

Underwater and hyperbaric medicine is a flagship of marine health and, with this agreement, it will be available to the citizen to promote the exchange between civil society and the military 'world', providing a prompt and effective health response to the needs citizens' assistance. This is in short the 'mood' that gave life to the agreement, which underlines the attention that the Ministry of Defense devotes to the maintenance of the highest standards of its bodies of military health, and how the strategy of exploitation of internal potential Defense (dual-use), may have a positive impact on the country.
