With the Melbourne stage, the first phase of the ship campaign was closed for the part concerning port stops Carabiniere in Australia and South East Asia.

La European Multi-Mission Frigate, in fact, he has one last engagement near the coasts in front of Perth, the exercise Ocean Explorer, scheduled for 2 and 3 March with the units of the Royal Australian Navy and other navies, which is among the purposes of this mission including those of ensuring maritime presence and surveillance, as well as strengthening the cooperation activities already underway with some trans-regional allies and start relations with new potential partners, within the framework of the institutional tasks entrusted to the Armed Force.

After the Melbourne stage, however, the first budgets can be drawn about the visits on board of engineers, technicians, representatives of the Royal Australian Navy and exponents of the Australian federal government, as well as individual state governments who wanted to see the Italian FREMM up close. and get an idea of ​​the characteristics and above all the capabilities of an anti-submarine unit, thanks to the latest generation weapon, defense and discovery systems, at the forefront both in the military and civil fields, in light of the funding allocated for the project Sea5000 Program Future Frigate.

The project will supply the Australian Navy with nine new units and sees Fincantieri in the running for the award of the tender.

Australian ship stops Carabiniere they also gave moments of great emotion with the visit on board of the Italian emigrants, former sailors, former carabinieri and ex-combatants who for a short time have been able to boast of the pride of being Italian.

The campaign, which started in La Spezia on 20 December, foresees as the next destination that of Jakarta, the capital and main city of Indonesia.

The initiative was born with the collaboration of Fincantieri (main sponsor), Leonardo, MBDA Italia, Elettronica and Telespazio.
