A new and modern educational multimedia center has been "operational" for a few weeks at the study building of the Non-Commissioned Officers School of Taranto.
Inserted in the broader modernization project of the Training Institute, the multimedia hub was created to allow the Marshal students of normal courses and their "colleagues" civilian students, attending degree courses in Industrial and Naval Systems Engineering and in Computer Science and Digital Communication, to follow a complete and cutting-edge course of study.
The hub is equipped with 142 workstations, distributed across 4 adjacent and interconnected laboratories. Automatic tracking webcams, interactive multimedia whiteboards, latest generation PCs, projectors, audio system, high-speed network connection, are just some of the tools through which it is possible to carry out video lessons (in synchronous/asynchronous mode) and video conferences (also on a single station).
All the design phases, drafting of technical specifications and installation of this innovative multimedia aid were carried out entirely by a team of officers and non-commissioned officers of the Combat System Technique Teaching Department (TSC) of the Mariscuola Taranto studies direction.
The new multimedia hub, among other things, is also useful for activities outside the Institute, such as in tests to assess knowledge of foreign languages - Joint Forces Language Test (JFLT) held bylanguage training, evaluation and certification office of the Navy Schools Command.
