Last night during the transfer navigation for a training activity, the Submarine Scirè of the Italian Navy reported that it hit a merchant unit off the Gulf of Squillace.
The boat has emerged and is proceeding towards its base. There were no injuries in the crew and the merchant ship regularly resumed its navigation.
The causes of the event are being investigated.
