Yesterday morning the patrolman Commander Cigala Fulgosi of the Italian Navy intervened to coordinate the rescue of two yachtsmen shipwrecked with their boat at 12 miles from Marzameni (SR).

The two castaways were adrift on the life raft, after their boat, a ten-meter sailboat, sank.

The Port Authority of Syracuse has assigned the task of coordinator to the commander of Cigala Fulgosi, who arrived on the spot and identified the raft with the boaters. The Navy ship then waited for the arrival of a patrol boat from the Guardia di Finanza, making sure that the two did not require medical assistance.
