Navy: the Palinuro training ship arrives in Brindisi

Today 25 July the training ship Palinuro of the Italian Navy has landed in the port of Brindisi where it will remain parked until the 27 July to then restart for the start of the 2017 Education Campaign in favor of the marshal students of the Officers' School of Taranto.

During the stop in Brindisi, the 35 marshals coming from the first class of the Officers' School to live their first direct experience with the sea, in a unique working environment, where they will explore the peculiar themes of the nautical art, the training and learning of nautical sciences, developing an adequate mastery and confidence with the working environment .

At the Officers' School of Taranto the marshal students attend a course of university studies integrated with the sport, the military training and courses of fire prevention and antifalla certification. During the Academic Year the students deepen their maritime knowledge as well as that related to specialist education, civic education and the improvement of physical aptitudes within a modern university campus created for the formation of the new figure of Marshal. The training process concludes with the Campaign aboard ship Palinuro designed to put into practice what has been acquired on books, increase team spirit and the ability to manage personnel, experience the ethical values ​​in person and touch the peculiar traditions of the Navy.

On the occasion of the stop, on Wednesday 26 July at 10: 00, the commander of Nave Palinuro, frigate captain Giuseppe Valentini, will hold a press conference on behalf of the media on board the Unit.

Ship Palinuro will be open for all those who want to visit it at the following times:

Tuesday 25 July:

from 10: 00 to 12: 00;

from 16: 00 to 19: 00;

from 21: 00 at 23: 00.
