The woman was rescued by the Fiorillo ship of the port authorities while she was on board a raft in precarious buoyancy conditions with other 87 migrants south / east of Lampedusa.
The helicopter took off from the San Giorgio ship with the on-board health team and, once in the vicinity of the Fiorillo ship, carried out the medical evacuation (CASEVAC) of the woman in critical health conditions through the aircraft winch.
The woman was transported to the hospital in Malta, where she was entrusted to the care of the medical staff.
