The assistance of volunteers from Italian ships in Angola

20/02/14

The work teams, made up of volunteers from the crews of the 30 Naval Group, have been involved - since last January - in assistance operations in poor places. The teams deal with schools, orphanages, hospitals. Here the crewmen are transformed into painters, masons, blacksmiths, carpenters, restorers, plumbers, electricians.

Installation of mosquito nets, doors for toilet facilities, covers for septic tanks, tank and toilet repair, furniture repair; these are some of the processes required of our men and women. Here the boys are introduced to a different world from that of the road they come from.

We meet two of our men who, during their stay in Angola, offered their precious work to the Child Care Center "Casa de Acolhimento Crianças and Adolescentes em Perigo São Kizito", a very poorly maintained facility near Luanda.

"Through this initiative, the 30 ° Naval Group gives us the opportunity to feel filled with pride and satisfaction". Palese tells us about the San Marco Brigade.

Roberto Urso, 1 Marshal of Nave Cavour, agrees: «It is not the first time that I participate in this project that comes from the depths of our heart, with the ultimate desire to give an extra smile to those less fortunate than us. At the end of each day we return home "tired" but richer, full of looks and smiles that convey to us without words how great their gratitude is ".
