The aircraft carrier Cavour, flagship of the navy is parked in the Orona bay from 12 to 14 November, three days in the name of a wide-ranging institutional commitment.

Today on board the aircraft carrier was signed the collaboration and development agreement between the navy and the Abruzzo region on maritime issues related to training, culture and sport, research, innovation, design, industry, environmental protection, the protection of the territory and the sea, encouraging at the same time the relationships with other national and international realities including those of overseas including Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Albania.

The chief of staff of the navy, team admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi, on the sidelines of the signature said: "this initiative is the beginning of a strategic collaboration that starts from the regional context of Abruzzo but extends to the countries of the front bank , gathering all the potential that the sea can offer for national prosperity "," is an initiative that works as a model, an innovative concept that has in its effectiveness its greatest potential ".

A virtual "bridge" connecting the two shores that face the Adriatic Sea: this represents the Cavour aircraft carrier which, for the first time, is parked in the Orona (Ch) roadstead as an integral part of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative in scope of the European strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region.

Political and diplomatic authorities, coming from the main partner countries of the Adriatic basin, will be present on board the aircraft carrier 14 November at 17,30, during the conference, on "The strategy of the Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion: the Europe of opportunities", during which the guidelines of common goals will be illustrated with a view to sharing intent.
