The Cavour aircraft carrier hosts the 20 ° inter-force shooting competition championship

From the 17 to the September 19, the 20 ° cross-shooting championship, a double trap specialty, took place aboard the Cavour ship docked at the Mar Grande station in Taranto, where 80 athletes belonging to the sports groups of the armed forces, state bodies, military personnel no longer in service and juniors.

The navy was the protagonist having achieved brilliant results with Alessandro Chianese, winner of the excellence category with an 102 score; in the team competition, the Chianese-Rossi-Barillà trio took the top step of the podium in front of the gold and aeronautics flames teams.

In the closing speech the commander in chief of the naval squad, team admiral Filippo Maria Foffi, highlighted the pleasure and honor with which the navy has hosted the inter-force championship for the past twenty years.

Senator Luciano Rossi, president of the Italian volleyball federation, in thanking the commander and crew of the aircraft carrier Cavour, pointed out that the spirit of sacrifice and self-denial that distinguish both the athlete and the military are examples of excellence for all Italians.

Once again, the strong union between the navy and sport is renewed as an essential element of human and professional growth.
