The Palinuro training ship greets Messina for the port of La Spezia

Messina - After participating in the historical re-enactment of the landing of Don Giovanni of Austria, the training ship Palinuro, under the command of the frigate captain Francesco Rima, reopens the sails to continue the 58th education campaign in favor of the 18 student pilots of the normal course marshals of the Officers' School of Taranto.

Embarked in the port of Gallipoli last July 26, the future non-commissioned officers of the Navy will continue their training period on board the ship until August 16 where, in the port of La Spezia, they will be given the traditional "Break the lines". At the end of this experience, the students of Taranto will have learned the essence of sailing on a sailing unit, where the cohesion of the crew, the resilience, the transfer of professional experience and the opportunity to learn the seafaring art. make a good starting point for any Sailor.

In the city of the strait, on the schooner, 15 young people from: the National Association of Italian Sailors (ANMI), the Italian Naval League (LNI) and Sail Training Association-Italy (STA-I) which, for the first time, will be put in close contact with a real crew of the Navy and will carry out the so-called "baptism of the sea" which will end in the Ligurian port. During this period, it will also be important for them to learn the seafaring art through a unique experience that will remain indelible in their life.
