The 2015 Headlight Service Campaign for navigational safety

The Moto Transport Fari (MTF) Procida ship has completed the first phase of the 2015 Headlight Campaign by installing two important signals to the north-east of Sardinia, one to the Secca dei Monaci and the other to the Secche di Ceraso in Olbia.

The Service of the Lighthouses and of the Maritime Signaling is responsible for the proper functioning of the navigation aids represented by light buoys, lights, lights and lights and is entrusted by law to the Navy by the 1911.

The network of maritime signaling is developed along the coasts of the peninsula, islands and ports of national interest for a total of 856 aids composed of 153 headlights and 703 headlights.

In September the Fari Campaign will resume the maintenance activities of the maritime signaling with the ships Levanzo, Gorgona, Lipari and Ponza in several Italian coastal towns including the ports of Naples, Livorno, Brindisi and Venice.
