This morning, at the general command of the Port Authorities, the celebration of the 155th anniversary of the institution of the Port Authority Corps was held, whose signature of the founding decree, by King Vittorio Emanuele II, dates back to 20 July 1865.
The Undersecretary of State for Defense, Dr. Giulio Calvisi and the Chief of Staff of the Defense General Enzo Vecciarelli, who were greeted on their arrival by the commanding general, admiral chief inspector Giovanni Pettorino.
On the occasion a laurel wreath was laid in memory of the men and women, military and civilians, belonging to the Corps of the Port Authorities, who lost their lives in service.
The Chief of Staff of Defense expressed feelings of esteem and closeness to the Corps military personnel for the excellent work carried out and for the commitment they spend daily in the multiple sectors entrusted to them, contributing to the security of the country.
