The Volunteers in Prefixed Navy (VFP1) swear allegiance to the Italian Republic

There are four hundred and eighty-two volunteers in fixed stops who swore loyalty to the Italian Republic last Friday in the Piazza d'Armi of the Officers' School of the Lorenzo Bezzi Navy of Taranto. A ceremony followed with participation by the families of the young 'Sailors' who, shouting "I swear", officially entered the seafaring family, a world rich in values ​​and traditions.

Volunteers will be divided into various categories. Three hundred thirty Nocchieri di Porto (Corps of the Harbor Offices - Coast Guard), of which two hundred and thirty-one will go immediately to their first destination of service, forty-four will attend the specialization course in Installation Defense Service (SDI) and fifty-five that of specialization in Master of Cuisine and Mensa (MCM). Centocinquantadue Sailorsinstead, they will continue the course at Caorle School Battalion of Brindisi.

The motto of the course, as per tradition in Latin, is “Homo faber ipsius fortunae” (every man is the architect of his own destiny).

The swearing-in ceremony was held in the presence of the commander of the Navy schools, team admiral Salvatore Ruzittu and other civil and military authorities.
