The Navy's VFP1 swear allegiance to the Republic

Yesterday morning, in the Piazza d'Armi of Mariscuola Taranto, 339 Volunteers in fixed farm annual members of the 3rd incorporation 2016 have sworn allegiance to the Italian Republic, in the presence of the commander of the Navy Schools, team admiral Salvatore Ruzzittu and the civil, religious and military authorities.

The family members of the volunteers, who arrived in large numbers from all over Italy, followed the ceremony with emotion, which culminated in the moment in which the “I swear” ritual was pronounced; from today, they too will share a unique experience and precious custodians of those values ​​and ideals that have always been common to all the personnel of the Navy.

Of the 220 volunteers belonging to the "Port of Nocchieri" category, 127 will leave immediately after the oath for the first destination of service, 36 will attend the specialization course in Installation Defense Service, while 57 will attend the specialization course in Master of Cuisine and Mensa.

The 119 volunteers belonging to the category "Sailors" will instead continue the course attendance at the schools battalion Caorle in Brindisi.

The VFP1 of the 3rd incorporation 2016 have chosen as the name of the Course "UNIO" (union) and the motto "FRANGAR NON FLECTAR" (I bend but I do not break), with the aim of certifying the will to progress along the path undertaken, without break down in the face of adversity that will arise.

The enrollment of future Navy VFP1s for 2017, currently underway, will be active until October 4, 2016, the deadline for submitting applications. The additional 1980 volunteers enrolled will be employed not only as operators or apprentices, but also in the special forces and specialized components of the Navy such as amphibians, raiders, divers, submariners and in the aircraft component.
