Navy divers working on the ALEMAX II wreck

Nave's divers Antaeus and ready-to-use department of the operating group divers (GOS) of Comsubin, last November 26th they operated in the waters off Cape Figari for the search and recovery of a missing sailor, an event dating back to last August 10th following a collision between a fishing vessel and a ferry.

Ship Antaeus, upon delegation from the territorially competent public prosecutor's office, carried out seabed inspection activities through the use of wire-guided underwater vehicles supplied to the GOS, such as ROVs Sirio e perseus, and the operators identified the position of the remains of the bow and stern of the fishing vessel and, subsequently, of a body examined on the bottom.

After the maneuver of laying the buoy field and subsequent refinement of the position on the vertical of the wreck, the divers, using the SDC (Submersible Decompression Chamber) equipment, reached a depth of approximately 90 metres, the depth at which the merciful recovery, activities that prelude, in addition to the advanced technologies supplied, also particular skills and sensitivity.

At the end of the activity, the finds were entrusted to the maritime directorate of Olbia for subsequent investigative actions carried out by the judicial authority.
