Two months after the start of the training campaign for 1st class students of the Naval Academy, aboard ship Vespucci, the newborn Corsican Ateires he continues to train every day to the shore of the yards while the ship is sailing to the next port.

This time it was the turn of the city of Antwerp, the main Belgian port, located in East Flanders which, with its baroque shopping streets and medieval buildings, offered students a moment of rest from the intense activity on board.

Day by day, the students face an ever stimulating reality that places them in front of new challenges and responsibilities. In fact, there are many daily activities that serve to complete the professional training begun at the Naval Academy, as well as opportunities to test their aptitude for seafaring art.

Aboard Vespucci the essential elements for the student's training are the ability to go ashore (on the yards) and the speed in maneuvering the sails. From the early days of the campaign, the students learned to recognize the helmsmen's whistles and to respond to the call of the Driving position general to the sails, when the whole crew gathers on deck to maneuver the imposing sails, acquiring ever greater speed and mastery.

Wearing the seat belt, hooking on to the "beaters" of the trees, climbing on the "handrails" are now consolidated habits and the students are more and more casual in those movements that they now perform with determination and skill.

Once ashore, on the flagpoles, the evocative landscapes offer ever stronger emotions that make the experience of the students of the Vespucci.
