"I swear!". 32 students and 32 students of the course Helios of Morosini of Venice, students of the 1 year, at 11,56 on Saturday 19 December they took the oath in unison before the Tricolor, sealing their absolute devotion with the Fatherland.

Concentrated face, solemn attitude, vocal power to the stars, hands clasped on the arms in front of him: everyone gave his best in shouting it. In the tone of the voice was contained all the essence of the commitment started 139 days before entering the Morosini with the knowledge that the path taken would have been for the good of the Fatherland. A few days ago the new uniforms were delivered with the stars on the collar and the long-awaited rapier, a symbol of belonging to the Naval School. Then the oath.

The students of the Corso Helios have their red banner with the divinity symbolizing the solar star that crosses the sea and the sky, illuminating and warming up everything it meets. This is what i Pivoli ("pivelli" in Morosini's comradeship slang, in the good sense of the term) have chosen. The Navy will now guarantee all the effort possible with the tools available, men, means and experience handed down so that the generation of the course Helios can be a model of professionalism, efficiency and honesty for future generations.

The onerous task now for the students is to prepare well to keep the values and ideals of the Fatherland high. Ideals that are increasingly defending themselves with all-round preparation and always being aware that being official is not only a status, but above all a duty towards Italian citizens, including those who do not share the values of the FFAA but who, unbeknownst to them, benefit from them of services rendered.

Often those who criticize the military do not know the silent and anonymous work that is also carried out in the civil sphere. Two examples, among other things, two morosinians: the Cilona pilot commander (course Fomalhaut) and the pilot commander Borgh (course Naumacos). The first with his helicopter arrived promptly on Costa Concordia coordinating relief efforts and bringing many people to safety; the second flew into thick smoke, which prevented adequate maneuvering visibility, which emanated from the Norman Atlantic saving the crew.

The two commanders kept the oath they played as boys at Morosini doing their job well even in the field of peace but in extremely high risk conditions. These are the effects of the oath to the Homeland pronounced at Morosini.

Morosini is a second-level school of education where the last three years of the traditional scientific and classical high school take place, whose objective is to educate young people and arouse in them the interest in life on the sea, orienting them towards the activities connected to it , integrating it with a pre-university education of excellence that allows the attendants professional prestige, not addressed exclusively to the enrollment in the Armed Forces, but also to the employment in the civil world.
