Course for the Red Cross Military Corps at the Taranto naval training center

On Monday, January 16, 2017, the basic radio telecommunication course for the personnel of the Training and Promotional Activities Unit of the Military Corps of the Italian Red Cross (CRI) of the province of Taranto was held at the Aeronavale Training Center of Taranto.

The course provides participants with an outline of the main radio, conventional and satellite devices, as well as the radiotelephone procedures used in international communications and useful for cooperation activities with other organizations.

To welcome the 17 students, Admiral Pasquale Guerra, commander of the Aeronavale Training Center who recalled how the mutual exchange of experience and professionalism - the Military Corps of the CRI periodically carries out first aid and BLS courses (Basic Life Support) in favor of Navy personnel - represents an opportunity for individual growth and in general a precious resource both for the Navy and for the CRI Corps.

The activity was divided into two phases: a theoretical one, focused on the use of radiotelephonic procedures in emergency communications, on emergency communications with the Department of Civil Protection, the main radio devices, the INMARSAT satellite systems and the code for the rescue communications in CRI, and a practice, with the use of the GMDSS simulator (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System).

The Naval Air Training Center of the Navy operates in the sectors of use of specialized training and training of Navy personnel and is also engaged in various cooperation projects with other Navies such as the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Qatar, China. , Bangladesh and Kuwait.
