Amphibious Course of Brigade Marina San Marco

Caorle Schools Battalion, marine brigade Saint Mark, the intermediate training course ends. Seven lieutenants achieve amphibious specialization (ANF).

The course, which is attended by naval officers of the Navy in possession of the amphibious license, lasts twenty-four weeks, during which the participants study the doctrine on the art of war, operational planning, management of maneuvering units, tactical planning of conventional and amphibious land operations. Theoretical activity alternates with practice with planning and preparation exercises for offensive, defensive and transition operations.

Central themes of training leadership, command and control, decision making and the study of operations. There is also the study of the main battles of the past, which are based on doctrinal and operational concepts that are as current as ever, such as Canne della Battaglia - the archaeological park, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, was visited by visitors who studied one of the bloodiest battles that saw the Roman army clash with the Carthaginian army in 216 BC - and the battles of the Marines of the 2nd World War - on the Gustav line, near Cassino (RM) and on the Gothic line, near Castel del Rio (BO) - where the San Marco favored the advance of the “Folgore”.

At the end of the course, the officers will be called to hold command positions with the companies of the operational regiments and the staff of the brigade.
