All the rescue operations concluded in the night

The nine rescue operations by the ships of the Navy and the Port Authority in the Strait of Sicily ended during the night. Starting yesterday morning with the discovery of the dinghies in difficulty by the EH101 helicopters boarded on the San Marco amphibious ship, they led to the rescue of 1123 migrants in a single day.

Nave San Marco, with 6 rescue operations, and the Vega patrol boat with 2 have recovered 788 migrants; the 303 patrol boats and 319 of the Port Authority have rescue 335 migrants aboard the ninth inflatable boat.

All the migrants, transferred to the amphibious ship San Marco, are directed towards the port of Augusta.
