About a month after its arrival in Brindisi, the GO 59 basin became operational.
After the first dive maneuver, a barge (float used to transport diesel to refuel ships in port) and a harbor tug were brought ashore at the same time, allowing them to start maintenance work on the hull.
The new basin, which replaces the old one, can accommodate ships up to a displacement, the weight of the ship, of 1000 t and can be used not only for Navy vehicles, but also for civil ships, making use of exchanges.
