In the past few days, the San Marco paratroopers have carried out an airliner in the sea which for the first time in history was organized, managed and directed by the San Marco marine brigade, thanks to the support of the 46 ^ Pisa air brigade and the parachuting training center ( CAPAR) of the Folgore Paratroopers Brigade.

In the development of the operational capacities for the insertion of advanced reconnaissance units and acquisition of objectives, the San Marco marine brigade has launched an ambitious training program which, from the 2000 to today, has seen the potential for insertion of recon personnel and operators of the newly formed parachutist swimmer grow. , specialist unit of the 1 San Marco regiment delegated to carry out infiltration in uncontrolled territories in preparation for the landing actions of the assault battalions, leading the brigade to have an operational arm of 111 paratroopers.

The current scenarios increasingly require the ability to reach distant and degraded areas of the world by leaking from submarines or launching from fixed or rotating wing vectors, thus multiplying capacity and speed of intervention in crisis areas.

The newly acquired sea-watering capability will provide an additional tool for the projection of specialized assets and related surface means, capable of conducting a wide range of missions including reconnaissance, three-dimensional fire support (naval, air and land). ), the acquisition of targets and the demolition of anti-tank barriers.

This event marks the beginning of a new era for the San Marco navy brigade, whose men - from the motto 'by sea to terram' - are preparing to use air as an effective and rapid means of intervention and insertion.
