Confinement and isolation are critical aspects for those venturing into the ocean depths or into space. But what happens when we join forces to face them together?
The Italian Space Agency, the University of Florence, the Navy and the Air Force have created a scientific project called NUT (from the name of the Goddess of the sky, celestial bodies and water) to explore the boundaries of human life in extreme environments.
By collaborating on the microbiological and physiological monitoring of the crew of an operational submarine and the astronauts participating in the Ax-3 mission, they will try to open new ways to improve the living conditions of those who find themselves facing extreme challenges.
