In recent days Ship Garibaldi, Ship Stromboli and Ship Bergamini, have carried out, in the central Mediterranean, a series of exercises with increasing difficulty with the involvement of the British Navy. The interaction activity between the two navies took place in a larger training program in which Nave Garibaldi has been busy for several weeks.

The interaction with the group led by Nave Garibaldi, of significant importance also in the field Naval Diplomacy, was aimed at fostering cooperation and interoperability between the naval means of allied countries.

The two units of the British fleet that took part in the training event, HMS Albion and RFA Lyme Bay, were involved in simulated scenarios that allowed the carrying out of exercises concerning air defense and antisubmarine, as well as kinematic maneuvers between the various units aimed at achieving advanced training levels.

In particular, the AV-8Bs embarked on a ship Garibaldi tested their ability to evade British defenses during an air defense exercise. The group also conducted communications training, close-range maneuvers, helicopter cross-decking and an anti-submarine drill.

This training context has allowed the various specialized components on board to confront themselves with a foreign navy, also taking part in bilateral flight activities. Activity that is of the utmost importance for the consolidation of standard procedures at NATO level.

The training event ended with the usual departure of the ships, for the salute and "rendering of honors at sea" before the so-called force dispersion.
