Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is embraced by a wide natural bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Canadian city has in the past represented the entrance to the new world for the first Europeans who ventured into the American continent, and it was completely rebuilt after the 'Great Explosion' which destroyed much of the city in the 1917.

In Halifax, the first North American stop, the "Lady of the Seas" paid tribute to the town, participating in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Canadian Confederation which will culminate in the next Canadian port, Montreal, where the Unit will land on 21 June . The ship will then continue for the last stop in Canada, Quebec City, and will head for the United States.
